Me+ personalised Learn to Self-Catheterise video

Did you know that Me+ has a personalisable video guide for people who are self-catheterising, or about to start this? We understand that catheterisation can sometimes feel overwhelming and stressful, so the personalised video guide allows intermittent catheter users to choose the information they want whenever they need it, so they feel empowered to live confidently.

No two intermittent catheter users are the same, so why should the way they learn be “one-size-fits-all”?

This can either be watched as a general guide to the process, or personalised with the specific use details for GentleCath™ or Cure™ products.

The video guides cover five steps in the process of catheterising:
  1. Prepare yourself and your environment
  2. Prepare your product
  3. Insertion and voiding
  4. Removal
  5. Disposal.

These video guides contain additional information about insertion tips, relaxation tools and positioning tips, tips on catheterising when the person is not at home, anatomy labels and advice on how to find the urethra.

The video contains an educational library, with information about intermittent catheters, urinary tract infections and responses to the top 10 frequently asked questions that Convatec hear from intermittent catheter users.

People who are prescribed an intermittent catheter can often feel nervous or anxious when they start to use them, so there is also a relaxation centre which includes a breathing exercise, a grounding exercise and relaxing music, to help make the process less worrying.
